Council of Europe – European Cinema Support Fund

Eurimages is a program that supports the film industry in Europe. They grant funds for co-production, distribution and exhibition of cinematographic works (documentaries, animations, fictions).
Deadlines: Four deadlines each year: the next deadline is January 14th, 2011.

European Fund for the Balkans (EFB)

The European Fund for the Balkans (EFB) is a multi-year joint initiative of European foundations designed to undertake and support initiatives aimed at bringing the Western Balkans closer to the European Union through grant-giving and operational programs and, as such, is focused on individuals and organizations from Western Balkan countries.

Deadlines: The EFB supports projects that are in line with its priority program areas by issuing calls for proposals throughout the year.

Note: Unsolicited proposals are not accepted.

Fund for Central and Eastern European Book Projects

They assist publishers in Central and Eastern Europe (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and others) by supporting quality publishing and book translations.
Deadlines: February 15th and August 15th (each year).
Note: A publisher wishing to apply must send an e-mail with short description of the project, and if the project is considered eligible for support, the publisher will receive an application form.

International Music Trust Fund (IMTF)

The “Music for Hope Fund” was set up as a global initiative to bring music to conflict-torn and under resourced regions of the world. It supports local organisations and artists in conducting music workshops and special projects (in schools, community centres, hospitals and refugee camps).

Pro Helvetia / The Swiss Cultural Programme in the Western Balkans

Pro Helvetia supports cross-border cultural projects in the field of contemporary arts. Pro Helvetia also runs The Swiss Cultural Programme in the Western Balkans (SCP).

Small Actions programme supports short-term projects such as exhibitions, publications, stage productions, concerts, conferences, debates, etc., realized by local organisations (in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia). All projects are under the responsi bility of the local offices in their respective countries. These projects are selected by a local board in each country and on the basis of the applications.

Swiss-Balkan Cultural Exchange Projects support projects with artists from Switzerland and organisers in the Western Balkans (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia). Local organisers can apply for funding for projects (music, theatre, dance, visual arts, literature, and culture and society) involving Swiss participants.

Anna Lindh Foundation and the Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures (ALF)

The Ernst Schering Foundation supports contemporary visual arts, dance, theatre and contemporary classical music. Their focus is on dialogue between artistic disciplines, between art and science, and also between the countries of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

The Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD)

BTD supports democracy, good governance and Euroatlantic integration in Southeastern Europe. They give grants to NGOs in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. BTD also gives regional grants to organisations promoting the benefits of a pan-Balkan network.

Central European Initiative (CEI)

CEI’s objectives are to strengthen the capacities of countries outside the EU, to consolidate their institutional and economic background and bring them closer to the EU.

Know-How Exchange Programme (KEP) supports projects that are related to capacity-building, technical assistance and the transfer of good practices to non-EU member states of the CEI.
